Job Description
Director of Assured Positioning, Navigation, and Timing Solutions (APNT) Position Summary We are seeking a Director of APNT Solutions to lead the strategy, growth, and market expansion of an Assured Positioning, Navigation and Timing (APNT) product portfolio. This strategic, customer-facing position will serve as the business owner for APNT solutions, with responsibility for product strategy, market development, customer engagement, and cross-functional execution from concept through commercialization. The Director will work closely with Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Operations, and executive leadership to identify emerging opportunities, develop product roadmaps, guide investment priorities, and execute growth initiatives. The successful candidate will combine technical knowledge of navigation and timing technologies with strong product leadership, market insight, business development, and customer-facing experience. Key Responsibilities Product Strategy and Portfolio Leadership Own the strategic direction of the APNT product portfolio. Develop and maintain multiyear product roadmaps aligned with company growth objectives. Define product vision, market positioning, pricing strategy, and lifecycle plans. Prioritize investments based on customer requirements, competitive conditions, and expected return. Translate customer feedback into product requirements and engineering priorities. Lead product launches and commercialization activities. Customer Engagement and Business Development Engage directly with government, defense, commercial, and international customers. Identify operational challenges, emerging requirements, and new solution opportunities. Support capture activities by developing differentiated technical and business strategies. Participate in executive briefings, product demonstrations, trade shows, and industry conferences. Build relationships with customers, partners, distributors, and systems integrators. Represent the organization as a thought leader in APNT technologies. Market Strategy and Growth Develop and execute strategies for growth in existing and adjacent APNT markets. Conduct market and competitive analysis across GNSS, LEO-PNT, resilient timing, inertial navigation, and alternative PNT technologies. Identify emerging market opportunities and recommend investment priorities. Develop market segments, ideal customer profiles, and value propositions. Evaluate strategic partnerships, technology alliances, and channel opportunities. Product Ownership Own product requirements from initial concept through production. Develop business cases for new products, capabilities, and enhancements. Prioritize engineering initiatives based on market value and strategic alignment. Participate in product design reviews and technical trade studies. Ensure products meet customer requirements and business objectives. Marketing and Sales Enablement Develop product messaging, positioning, and value propositions. Support technical content, white papers, presentations, and sales materials. Partner with Marketing on product launches, website content, and thought-leadership campaigns. Train sales teams on product capabilities and competitive positioning. Support product demonstrations, proposals, customer presentations, and pricing strategies. Competitive Intelligence Monitor developments in alternative PNT architectures, LEO-based PNT, resilient timing, GNSS modernization, inertial navigation, anti-jam and anti-spoofing technologies, and navigation integrity. Track relevant commercial, aerospace, defense, and government market trends. Develop competitive assessments and strategic recommendations. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical discipline. At least 10 years of progressively responsible experience in product management, product strategy, business development, systems engineering, or a related leadership role. Experience with navigation, timing, communications, aerospace, defense, satellite, or related technologies. Demonstrated success launching and growing technology products. Experience working directly with government and commercial customers. Strong executive-level communication and presentation skills. Ability to work effectively across engineering, sales, marketing, operations, and leadership teams. Ability to travel domestically and internationally approximately 30% of the time. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in engineering, business administration, or a related field. Direct experience with APNT technologies. Experience with GNSS, inertial navigation, satellite communications, resilient timing, or alternative PNT. Familiarity with Department of Defense acquisition processes and government contracting. Experience working with international distributors or channel partners. Active U.S. security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
