Location:
This position is based in Mt. Pleasant, SC (preferred). We will also consider outstanding candidates located in the Myrtle Beach, SC area, particularly those with strong ties to the community and established local relationships. Position Overview The Director of Marketing will lead the firm's overall marketing strategy, brand development, and community engagement efforts. This role is responsible for driving brand growth, expanding referral relationships, overseeing marketing campaigns and events, and ensuring consistent messaging across all marketing channels. This leader will work closely with firm leadership to develop strategies that support long-term growth and strengthen the firm's presence as a trusted authority in elder law. The Director of Marketing will also supervise and mentor a Marketing Coordinator, providing strategic direction, prioritization, and oversight of marketing initiatives while ensuring effective execution of day-to-day marketing activities. Key Responsibilities Marketing Strategy & Leadership Develop and implement the firm's comprehensive marketing strategy aligned with firm growth goals. Identify new opportunities to expand brand presence and increase client acquisition. Analyze campaign performance and marketing metrics to guide strategic decisions and optimize results. Collaborate with firm leadership to support business development initiatives. Provide leadership and direction to the Marketing Coordinator, ensuring alignment with firm goals and marketing priorities. Team Leadership & Development Supervise, coach, and support the Marketing Coordinator in executing marketing initiatives. Delegate projects and manage workload to ensure marketing campaigns and events are executed efficiently. Provide guidance on marketing best practices and professional development. Ensure accountability and quality across all marketing activities. Brand Management Oversee the firm's branding efforts and ensure consistent messaging across all marketing platforms and materials. Manage brand reputation and position the firm as a leader in elder law within the communities we serve. Community Outreach & Referral Development Build and maintain relationships with key referral sources including financial advisors, healthcare providers, retirement communities, senior-focused organizations, and other local community partners. Represent the firm at networking functions, expos, educational programs, community events, and industry events. Identify strategic partnerships that expand the firm's reach and impact. Coordinate relationship-building activities such as referral thank-you communications, condolence cards, community sponsorships, donations, and other initiatives that strengthen relationships with clients, referral partners, and the communities we serve. Event Strategy & Execution Oversee and, as needed, personally support the execution of events, including venue preparation, PowerPoint presentations, handouts, catering, supplies, event communications, attendee reminders, and post-event follow-upEnsure events support lead generation, client education, and relationship building. Coordinate event logistics including marketing materials, presentations, catering, and follow-up engagement. Oversee event communications, including invitations, confirmations, text reminders, attendee communications, and post-event follow-up. Ensure all event materials, supplies, presentations, signage, catering, and other logistics are prepared in advance and executed professionally. Content & Digital Marketing Oversee creation and distribution of marketing content including articles, newsletters, social media posts, and presentations. Ensure content reflects the firm's expertise in topics such as estate planning, Medicaid, long-term care, and guardianship. Guide digital marketing initiatives including SEO, website performance, and marketing automation. Public Relations Support development of media opportunities, press releases, interviews, and community visibility initiatives that strengthen the firm's reputation. Client Experience & Engagement Collaborate with internal teams to strengthen client engagement and retention strategies. Help ensure the firm delivers a client experience that creates enthusiastic advocates and referrals. Marketing Operations & Compliance Manage the marketing calendar and ensure marketing initiatives are executed effectively and on schedule. Ensure all marketing activities comply with legal marketing ethics and advertising regulations. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field 5+ years of marketing experience, with leadership or team management responsibilities preferred Experience developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies Experience supervising or mentoring marketing staff preferred Strong experience with event marketing, community engagement, and referral development Ability to travel locally for events, meetings, and community engagement Experience in professional services marketing (legal, financial, healthcare, etc.) preferred Skills & Abilities Strategic thinker with strong execution ability Strong leadership and team development skills Highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to develop and implement creative marketing campaigns Understanding of digital marketing including SEO, social media, and content marketing Professional, polished, and client-friendly demeanor with strong interpersonal skills. Ability to prioritize effectively, respond with a sense of urgency, and remain calm, professional, and solutions-oriented under pressure. Ability to analyze marketing performance and adjust strategies accordingly Experience with marketing automation tools, CRM software, and website analytics Demonstrated ability to effectively use AI tools (e.g., generative AI, automation platforms, or AI-assisted research tools) to streamline workflows, improve productivity, and support high-quality work output
Preferred:
Familiarity with Canva; experience with Adobe Illustrator, graphic design, photography/video, or other multimedia content creation is a plus.
