This is an exciting opportunity for an early-career marketer to own email and lifecycle strategy for a well-established editorial brand that is investing heavily in its digital future. This is a hands-on, growth-oriented role reporting directly to the VP of Digital Marketing. The ideal candidate brings foundational experience in email and lifecycle marketing—segmentation, customer journeys, and list management—and is eager to learn and build alongside an experienced digital leader. The organization is in the midst of a significant digital transformation, including a website relaunch, a newly implemented customer data platform, and organization-wide adoption of AI and agentic marketing tools. Candidates should be comfortable working within a large, evolving tech stack and enthusiastic about experimenting with new marketing technology. Location Arlington, VA (in-office 4 days/week; flexible hours) Employment Direct hire, full-time, permanent opportunity In-office 4 days/week Role Responsibilities Own email marketing and lifecycle/segmentation strategy across the organization's subscriber and donor base Build and manage customer journeys, audience segmentation, and list hygiene Support subscription growth and fundraising campaigns through targeted, data-driven email marketing Write and refine email subject lines, headlines, and occasional landing page copy Partner with the VP of Digital Marketing to make full use of a growing tech stack, including a newly built CDP Explore and adopt AI and agentic marketing tools as part of the organization's broader AI strategy Skills and Experience Approximately 3 years of experience in email marketing Experience with audience segmentation and list management Fundraising or subscription marketing experience a plus Comfortable with light copywriting (subject lines, headlines, landing page copy) Openness to learning and using AI-assisted marketing tools Comfortable operating within a large, evolving marketing technology stack Compensation & Benefits Salary range: $75,000-$85,000 Full benefits, including health insurance and PTO Outcomes-focused, flexible culture
