Job Description

Description On-Campus employment opportunities at Columbia Basin College (CBC) are available. Students who believe the experience can be a valuable part of their education are encouraged to apply, with some positions requiring work study funding for eligibility. This announcement will be used to develop a pool of applicants for the Marketing & Communications department. The hours for the position will be flexible within CBC's operating hours, and some evening and weekend hours may be required. Hours for this position will typically range between 15-19 hours per week and will primarily be completed at the Pasco Campus. Student employees in Marketing & Communications will support daily operations, events, and workshops hosted at the College. They will serve as representatives of the Marketing & Communications department and will be provided professional development opportunities to supplement their educational experiences at CBC. Marketing & Communications student employees will contribute to the creation of marketing materials, graphic design projects, and departmental communications while providing valuable student perspectives to help ensure messaging effectively reaches and engages the student community. Student employees will also adhere to departmental standards of professionalism, collaboration, creativity, and respectful communication. Marketing & Communications student employees will be supervised by the Director for Marketing & Communications and will be supported in daily tasks by department staff.
Pay Range:
$17.13 - $17.13 per hour. Primary Responsibilities Assist Marketing & Communications department with the following: Assist with drafting and preparing content for blogs, email communications, social media and other marketing materials under the direction of marketing staff; Assist with market research by gathering data on trends specific to target audiences; Assist with the implementation of marketing campaigns by preparing materials, organizing information, coordinating assigned logistics and completing other support activities under the direction of marketing staff; Assist with tracking campaign metrics, compiling data, preparing reports and identifying basic trends for review by marketing staff; Assist staff with routine marketing activities, projects and preparations; Perform general office duties including, filing, data entry, organizing materials and maintaining records; and Other appropriate duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Currently enrolled at
Columbia Basin College:
For Non-Work Study:
enrolled in at least one (1) credit;
For Work Study:
enrolled in at least six (6) degree-required credits, five (5) degree-required credits for summer; Good communication, computer, and customer service skills; and Familiar with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access).
