Senior Electrical & Product Development Engineer Summary:
Lead the development of next-generation products with a primary focus on electronics design, PCB layout, hardware validation, and system integration. Define software architecture and requirements, manage external firmware/software partners, and collaborate cross-functionally to deliver reliable, safe, cost-effective products on schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead schematic design, PCB layout, prototyping, and electronics validation using tools such as Altium. Develop BOMs and ensure designs meet safety, reliability, and industry standards. Define software requirements, functional specifications, flowcharts, and state diagrams. Manage external firmware/software development partners, deliverables, budgets, and timelines. Lead system integration, troubleshooting, firmware testing, and electrical validation. Design and support production/test fixtures and hands-on laboratory testing. Maintain schematics, PCB files, Gerbers, drawings, BOMs, manufacturing procedures, and test reports. Support regulatory compliance, including RoHS, REACH, and CMRT documentation. Collaborate with mechanical, manufacturing, quality, sourcing, vendors, OEMs, and other stakeholders. Support component selection, cost reduction, alternate sourcing, manufacturing, and product lifecycle activities. Stay current with emerging technologies, components, and engineering practices.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field preferred. 5+ years of product development experience focused on electrical/electronics engineering and hardware validation. Expert knowledge of PCB design tools such as Altium and electronic test equipment. 2+ years managing external engineering, software, OEM, or technical vendors. Strong experience translating product requirements into software specifications and system designs. Experience with production/test fixtures, microcontrollers, sensors, and wireless communication. Knowledge of low-EMI design, regulatory compliance, and electronics testing. Ability to analyze electrical, mechanical, and software data. Basic mechanical/CAD knowledge and ability to interpret engineering drawings and tolerances. Strong organizational, communication, troubleshooting, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Pay:
$90,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
