This is a critical, high-visibility role covering a leave transition for our Director of SMB Acquisition, with the opportunity to grow into a permanent senior leadership position on the team. The contract period is planned to run from August 2026 through April 2027. You'll own Google Ads and Bing Ads end to end: strategy, budget management, bid optimization, and conversion feed health, for a program running over seven figures a month in spend. You'll work closely with our marketing ops and analytics functions to keep tracking and conversion data clean, and with our affiliates and paid social functions as a connected part of the broader SMB acquisition engine. What You'll Own Paid Search Strategy & Execution — Full ownership of Google Ads and Bing Ads campaign strategy, structure, bidding, budget pacing, and performance optimization across a 7-figure+ monthly spend portfolio Conversion Feed Optimization — Manage and continuously improve the conversion data feeding into Google/Bing (offline conversions, enhanced conversions, value-based bidding inputs); partner with our conversion feed signal partner agency, marketing/BI ops, and data engineering to ensure feed accuracy and completeness Performance Reporting — Own search channel reporting (MQLs, offer volume, MER, CPA) and translate performance into clear narratives for leadership Cross-functional Partnership — Work closely with Marketing Ops/Automation, Affiliates, and the broader SMB growth team Testing and Optimization — Identify and test incremental search opportunities (PMax structure, new match type strategies, bid strategies, search partner network adjustments, etc.). This will also include creative testing and working with internal CRO partner to continuously improve post-click conversion. Team leadership (growth path) — As the role matures, potential to manage other performance marketing managers and expand scope across the SMB paid and performance portfolio What You'll Need to be
Successful Required:
5-7+ years of hands-on paid search management with deep, current expertise in Google Ads and Bing Ads Proven experience managing accounts with monthly spend exceeding $1M+ (seven figures), ideally across multiple campaign types (Search, PMax, GDN, YouTube) Direct, hands-on experience optimizing conversion feeds/conversion data quality feeding into ad platforms, offline conversion imports, enhanced conversions, value-based bidding, or similar Clear creative testing background and frameworks Strong grasp of bidding strategy and budget allocation at scale across a portfolio of campaigns Comfortable owning a channel independently with minimal day-to-day oversight
Strongly Preferred:
Experience in financial services , particularly SMB lending, B2B fintech, or small business focused financial (or similar) products Familiarity with lead-gen / marketplace business models where conversion happens off-platform (form fill MQL application funded loan, or similar multi-step funnels) Experience working with attribution/tracking infrastructure (server-side tracking, CAPI, offline conversion pipelines) Nice to

Experience managing or mentoring junior paid media specialists Familiarity with HubSpot, GA4, Snowflake, or similar marketing/lifecycle tooling Comfort working in a fast-moving team with shifting channel mix and test budgets
