Job Description

Priority Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the College?s social media accounts and calendar, develop engaging content based on strategy and the College brand 2. Serve as primary point of contact for the social media accounts of Connecticut College, responding to inquiries from internal and external audiences 3. Run reports and use data to inform social media strategy 4. Work alongside the Social Media Content Creator (Video) to develop engaging video content 5. Supervise and lead digital content interns
General Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Act as the primary community manager for the main social media accounts of Connecticut College. 2. Monitor College-related conversations on social media and respond in a timely manner and as appropriate. Identify and alert the Director of Digital Marketing and key administrators to potential crises. Track, report and advise on social media crises and their impact on the College?s accounts. 3. Research and conceptualize content ideas for social and digital media; write copy; create audio, photographic, video and other multimedia content. Develop engaging content based on the social media strategy and the College brand. Increase engagement across all social channels. 4. Work closely with the Social Media Content Creator (Video) to plan and develop engaging content. 5. Lead and manage digital content interns, including student writers and content creators. Lead weekly meetings with the interns. 6. Use analytics and data to inform decision-making about social media and digital communications and marketing. Track engagement across channels and provide analysis and recommendations to ensure greatest reach. Produce reports for the Director of Digital Marketing on key initiatives, goals and accomplishments. 7. Serve as a social media consultant within the College, working with constituents across campus to build a vibrant campus social media presence, with an emphasis on collaboration with media/public relations, Advancement and Admission. 8. Stay abreast of industry trends and anticipate, respond to and adjust to current best practices for existing and emerging social platforms. Examine and test new platforms as appropriate and explore strategies for gaining engagement. 9. Manage the College?s social media scheduling tool and create and maintain process documents to ensure robust backup systems and establish protocols and training systems. 10. Provide training and guidance for social media managers across campus. 11. Develop an annual content plan to support integrated communications. Draft and execute content plans for key events campaigns.
