Job Description:
The Office of Military & Veteran Services is seeking a federal aid recipient for student employment. This position will be funded by federal work study dollars; only students that receive financial aid awards can be considered for this position. The Office of Military & Veteran Services is seeking a motivated, creative, and dependable Federal Work-Study student to support military-connected students while assisting with outreach, public relations, and office operations. This position is ideal for a student interested in communications, marketing, event planning, or public service who enjoys engaging with others and creating meaningful content. Candidates must be Eligible for the Federal Work-Study Program. Primary Responsibilities Assist with developing and managing social media content across multiple platforms. Promote office programs, services, workshops, and campus events through digital marketing and public relations efforts. Create flyers, graphics, videos, and other promotional materials using Canva or similar design software. Capture photos and videos during campus events to highlight Military & Veteran Services initiatives. Assist in maintaining the office website and digital communications. Help plan, organize, and support military and veteran events throughout the academic year. Welcome students and visitors to the office while providing excellent customer service. Assist with office operations, including filing, data entry, inventory, and administrative projects. Support outreach efforts to current and prospective military-connected students. Collaborate with campus departments and community partners on special projects. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Military & Veteran Services.
Requirements:
Preferred Qualifications Strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience with social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.). Familiarity with Canva, Adobe Express, or other graphic design software preferred. Comfortable taking photos and creating short-form video content. Organized, dependable, and able to work independently. Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to serving a diverse student population. Military affiliation or knowledge of military culture is welcomed but not required. Desired Skills Creativity and attention to detail. Public relations and marketing experience. Customer service experience. Event planning and coordination. Basic photography and video editing skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
Additional Information:
Employees should expect to work at least 4 to 10, but no more than 20 hours per week at $15.00 per hour.
