Job Description
Brand & Social Media Specialist Bill Harris Dealerships Ashland / Loudonville Up to $60,000 annually for the right candidate, depending on experience and capability We're Growing. And We're Looking for Someone Who Can Help Tell Our Story. Bill Harris Dealerships is growing and evolving our marketing team, and we're looking for a Marketing & Content Manager who can recognize a good story, turn it into a plan, and get it in front of the right people. This isn't a job where you wait for someone to send you a marketing request. We're looking for someone who thinks: What are our stores trying to accomplish? What story are we telling? What should we capture today? Who needs to be involved? What can we create once and use across multiple platforms? Did it work? We have three dealerships, hundreds of employees, thousands of customers, busy sales, service and parts departments, community involvement, events and plenty of personalities. The challenge isn't finding things to talk about. It's recognizing the stories, organizing them and consistently getting them out there. What You'll Do You'll help develop and execute marketing and content across our dealerships, departments and communities. Build and manage a multi-location content calendar Develop campaigns around business objectives Proactively identify stories and content opportunities Capture authentic photos and video using your iPhone Create content for Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube Produce short-form and long-form content Write social posts, website content, emails and newsletters Interview employees, customers and community members Repurpose content across multiple platforms Manage website and email content Coordinate community events and marketing initiatives Get employees and managers involved when their participation is needed Review analytics and adjust based on results Coordinate outside photographers, videographers, designers and other vendors when needed You'll have freedom to experiment, but you'll also be expected to stay organized, meet deadlines and follow through. We're Looking for a Marketer & Storyteller First You don't have to be a filmmaker, professional photographer or graphic designer. We're looking for someone who is: Highly organized and proactive Personable and comfortable working with different personalities A strong communicator, writer and storyteller Creative, energetic and willing to experiment Comfortable coordinating multiple departments and locations Able to turn a business objective into a marketing idea Comfortable working independently and taking initiative Interested in community involvement and relationship building Comfortable using analytics to determine what's working Most importantly, you should enjoy making things happen. Your Phone Is Your Primary Camera. Your Calendar Is Your Most Important Piece of Equipment. We're looking for speed, authenticity and consistency over perfection. If you can walk into a department, recognize a good story, grab your phone, get people involved, edit it and publish it while it's relevant, that's valuable.
You should be comfortable with:
Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube Short-form and long-form content Basic video editing and graphic design Website content management Email/newsletter marketing Digital advertising fundamentals Social media analytics and performance measurement Professional photography, videography, Adobe Creative Suite, advanced graphic design and advanced editing skills are positives—but they're preferred skills, not the centerpiece of this position. What Success Looks Like Six months in, we want to see structure, consistency and momentum. Our content calendar is organized. Our departments know what's coming. Our employees are getting involved. Our social channels consistently showcase our people, sales, service, parts, customers and communities. Marketing isn't simply reacting to requests. Instead, we want someone thinking: \"Here's what we're trying to accomplish. Here's the campaign. Here's the content we need. Here's who needs to be involved. Here's when we're publishing it. And here's how we'll know if it worked.\" That's the mentality we're hiring for. Your Background Doesn't Have to Be Automotive We care more about what you can do than where you've done it. We welcome candidates from backgrounds such as: Hospitality- Tourism
- Retail
- Sports
- Nonprofits
- Marketing Agencies
- Colleges
- Event Marketing
- Local Businesses
- Community Organizations A specific degree or automotive experience isn't required if you can demonstrate the ability to engage people, organize moving pieces, find stories and produce results.
