Master Machinist (Mazatrol Programming)

Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Master Machinist specializing in Mazatrol CNC Turning to lead setup and programming operations on advanced CNC lathes. This pivotal role requires a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, ensuring precision, efficiency, and quality in every component produced. As the Lead Setup/Programmer, you will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and executing complex machining programs, mentoring team members, and maintaining high standards of safety and craftsmanship. Your expertise will drive continuous improvement initiatives and uphold our commitment to manufacturing excellence. Duties Program CNC turning centers directly at the machine (Mazatrol + G-Code). Interpret complex blueprints and determine machining strategy. Build complete processes from scratch including tooling selection, chuck/jaw modification, setup execution and first article inspection. Collaborate with engineering and maintenance on root-cause solutions. Develop and modify CNC programs using Mazatrol controls, CAM programming software for complex geometries and tight tolerances. Read and interpret GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) drawings to ensure parts meet all dimensional requirements. Operate precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other mechanical gauges to verify part accuracy. Troubleshoot machining issues related to tooling, fixtures, or machine performance; perform electrical discharge machining (EDM) as needed for intricate features. Proven experience as a Master Machinist with expertise in Mazatrol CNC turning centers; strong background in CNC programming and setup. Requirements Proficiency in CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks and other CAD tools for designing and modifying parts. Deep understanding of blueprint reading with emphasis on GD&T standards; mechanical knowledge essential for interpreting complex drawings. Expert-level Mazatrol programming experience (REQUIRED). Strong experience with Fanuc G-Code. 5-8 + years of setup + programming at the machine. Ability to manage multiple setups and priorities simultaneously. Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams; safety-conscious mindset essential for maintaining a safe work environment.
