Do you like the idea of a physical job where you create beautiful products all day with your hands—keeping to yourself, listening to music or a podcast, where the harder and faster you work, the more you earn?
Maybe this sounds like you:
You're tired of the busyness of the world and want something simpler. You've been out of the workforce doing the hard work of raising kids, and you want to get back to it—without learning some new tech skill. You just want to show up, learn a craft, work hard, and be part of a fun, caring team. You've made rope mats, baskets, or similar handmade products before and loved the work. Who we are The Rope Company is a small local business where we do our best to make people feel cared for, respected, and—we hope—like family. We're a heritage company with roots in both generational lobstering and rope-making that trace back to Crowe Rope. We're looking for people with good attention to detail who love making beautiful things by hand. Each piece is unique, but the work is satisfyingly repetitive. And these aren't throwaway items—every mat and basket you make is a handcrafted piece someone will bring into their home and enjoy for years. You'll finish each day knowing your hands made something real, something that'll put a smile on a customer's face long after it leaves the shop. This is a simple, rewarding job with a great team, real benefits, and a pay structure that grows with you. What the pay journey looks like Everyone starts in paid training at $15.50/hour . From there, you set the pace: $16.75/hr — should reach this within 4-12 weeks; if not, no problem — this position probably just isn't the right fit $18.00/hr — within 2-6 months. Many people will hit and live in this range — a great place to be. $19.50/hr — within 4-8 months, achievable for those who want to push $20.75/hr — within 6-12 months, can be had for the go-getters Mid-$20s/hr — for the top performers, in their sweet spot Some people find their happy place at $16.75/hour —they love the craft, thrive in our culture, and deliver quality every single day. We're genuinely thrilled to have them. Reaching $16.75/hour is the baseline the role requires , and we'll support you in getting there during training. Everything above that is up to you—and the timelines above are typical ranges, not guarantees. Your pace is your own. Flexible schedules, 25-40 hours/week Need to drop the kids at school and pick them up in the afternoon? That's exactly the kind of schedule we're happy to build around. "Flexible" means we set a consistent schedule that fits your life—and then we stick to it together. We'd love to hear from you.
