Mechanic

The Miranda Group is seeking a skilled and dependable Diesel & Heavy Equipment Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet of landscaping vehicles, trucks, and heavy-duty machinery. This role is critical to keeping our operations running efficiently across Kauai. Key Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance and repairs on: Diesel trucks and work vehicles Landscaping equipment (mowers, trimmers, blowers, etc.) Heavy-duty machinery (excavators, skid steers, loaders) Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues Conduct preventative maintenance inspections to minimize downtime Repair or replace engines, transmissions, brakes, and other major components Maintain accurate service and repair records Ensure all equipment meets safety and operational standards Coordinate with management on equipment needs and repair priorities Assist with emergency repairs in the field when needed Qualifications Proven experience as a diesel and/or heavy equipment mechanic Strong knowledge of: Diesel engines, Hydraulic systems, and Electrical systems Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose issues independently Experience working with landscaping or construction equipment preferred Valid driver's license (CDL is a plus) Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in outdoor conditions Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail Preferred (Not Required) ASE Certification or equivalent experience Welding and fabrication skills Experience with fleet maintenance programs
