Job Description

The Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for the planning, design, installation, and support of extrusion blow molding equipment & systems. In this role, you will partner with both internal and external teams to determine project needs and technical feasibility. You Will:
Design mechanical components and systems, including machine upgrades and improvements. Create preliminary sketches and detailed drawings, using CAD software. Serve as a subject matter expert, providing technical support for manufacturing techniques, equipment and processes. Investigate equipment failures or faulty operation, recommending corrective action or remedies. Analyze test data and reports to determine if designs meet functional and performance requirements. Partner with Engineers, Technicians, and Vendors to implement operating procedures, provide technical feedback, and prepare design modifications. Ensure project documentation is complete, current, and stored appropriately.
You Have:
Associate's Degree required; Bachelor's Degree preferred. Minimum of one year of experience in Mechanical, Project, or Design Engineering.
Knowledge of related computer software:
SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, SAP, Microsoft Excel, etc. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to operate as an effective leader and representative of Plastipak.
