We are seeking a dedicated and bilingual (English/Spanish) Medical Assistant to become part of our close-knit outpatient pulmonology office, led by two experienced and caring physicians. Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Duties

• Prepare patient charts and collect pre-visit studies (e.g. CT scans, chest X-rays, sleep studies).
• Take and document vitals, oxygen saturation, and respiratory assessments.
• Perform spirometry tests, 6-minute walk tests, and oximetry setups.
• Collect and safely handle biohazard specimens.
• Assist patients with specialty injectable for respiratory conditions like asthma.
• Ensure exam rooms are properly stocked and sanitized for each patient. Administrative & EMR Responsibilities
• Input patient data into electronic medical records (EMR), preferably Praxis.
• Submit and track prior authorizations for specialty and respiratory medications.
• Process medication refill requests and maintain updated medication records.
• Scan, upload, and categorize patient records into the correct EMR folders.
• Accurately relay patient messages and assist with provider communications. Communication & Coordination
• Communicate clearly and professionally in both English and Spanish—in person and over the phone.
• Provide Spanish-speaking patients with translated medication instructions, CPAP education, and follow-up information.
• Develop strong working relationships with providers, nurses, front desk, and administrative staff.
• Speak with specialty pharmacies, DME suppliers, and pharmaceutical reps regarding medications and authorizations.

Required Qualifications:

• Fluent in English and Spanish (both spoken and written)
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• At least 1 year of experience in a medical assistant or clinical support role
• Proficiency in using EMR systems

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or CCMA)
• Familiarity with CPAP/BiPAP devices and compliance tracking preferred
• Strong phone and in-person communication skills

Work Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM
• 5:00 PM
• Some flexibility or overtime is needed

Job Type:

Full-time Pay:

$19.00

• $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 40
• 45 per week
