Medical Assistant (Certified)

Overview:

Medical Assistant We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join Atlantic Medical Group with Dr. Ibegbu. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing quality patient care and assisting healthcare professionals in various clinical and administrative tasks. This is a paid position with opportunities for growth and development.

Responsibilities:

• Perform patient intake procedures, including measuring vital signs, documenting medical history, and verifying medication lists
• Assist healthcare providers with examinations, procedures, and treatments
• Administer injections and medications as directed by healthcare professionals
• Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring cleanliness and availability of necessary supplies
• Perform basic laboratory tests, such as blood draws and specimen collection
• Schedule patient appointments and manage patient records in an electronic health record system
• Provide exceptional patient service by answering questions, addressing concerns, and ensuring patient comfort
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care

Qualifications:

• Completion of a Medical Assistant program or equivalent training
• Current certification as a Medical Assistant preferred
• Proficiency in medical terminology and documentation
• Strong understanding of physiology, anatomy, and medical procedures
• Experience working in various clinical settings such as internal medicine, geriatrics, or hospital medicine is a plus
• Knowledge of coding and billing processes is desirable
• Basic life support certification is required
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals Please note that all positions at our organization are paid positions.
