Job Description
Performs physician assistance functions in a clinic environment, assists with providing a safe and clean setting for patients during their clinic visits, and utilizes appropriate equipment and resources under the supervision of a physician.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide clinic services and care for patients. Assist physicians and prepare patients for various types of examinations and procedures. Assist physician with minor surgical procedures performed in the clinic. Obtain and record blood pressure readings, weight, and length measurements. Apply or change dressings as directed. Communicate and treat patients in a professional, honest, fair, and respectful manner at all times. Assist in maintaining patient files. Prior to examination, obtain subjective information related to patient's perception of health. Collect necessary information received concerning x-ray and laboratory reports, data from referring physicians, and surgical or other procedure reports for the patient's files. Maintain stock levels of supplies and required equipment. Ensure inventory are adequately stocked with supplies and equipment necessary for efficient operation. Clean and disinfect surgical instruments and ensure they are delivered to the designated place for sterilization. Perform the cleaning and sterilization of equipment, exam rooms and work areas.OTHER SIGNIFICANT REQUIREMENTS
Maintain confidentiality on a daily basis. Work well with other employees. Perform other functions and tasks as assigned. Follow standard precautions when providing direct patient care or handling potentially infectious materials. WHY EHD?PEOPLE FIRST

High school graduate or equivalent.EXPERIENCE
One year experience in a medical setting preferred.PERSONAL JOB-RELATED SKILLS
Effective oral and written communication skills. Familiar with operating computers and ability to utilize computer systems.LICENSURE, REGISTRY, CERTIFICATIONS
Medical Assistant certification preferred. Current CPR certification required.PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Duties of the position require extended periods of standing and walking. Some bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, and lifting up to 52 pounds or heavier when supporting patients who may suddenly become weak or helpless.
