Position Overview We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Upper School Math Teacher to join our dynamic faculty. The ideal candidate will foster a love for mathematics and critical thinking through engaging instruction. Key Responsibilities Achievement Drive Goal Setting:
Set and achieve academic goals for students across disciplines including Algebra, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus.
Reflective Practice:
Regularly reflect on teaching practices to enhance effectiveness and student outcomes.
Innovation:
Utilize diverse strategies for problem-solving and mathematical modeling, while staying current with professional development.
Community Engagement:
Support extracurriculars such as math clubs, academic competitions, or school-sponsored events.
Classroom Structure & Planning Curriculum Design:
Develop clear, standards-based learning objectives and engaging lesson plans.
Environment:
Foster a safe, supportive classroom environment that encourages inquiry and analytical thinking.
Management:
Maintain classroom organization to promote a positive learning experience and complete necessary administrative tasks efficiently and on time.
Student & Parent Relationships Partnership:
Build trusting, collaborative relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
Communication:
Communicate openly with parents to foster partnerships and support student development.
Personalization:
Tailor instruction to individual needs, identifying strengths and areas for growth.
Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a related field (Master's preferred).
Experience:
Prior experience teaching math at the upper school level (Grades 9-12) is preferred.
Skills:
Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills; ability to inspire students through mathematical exploration.
