Paris Middle School is seeking qualified applicants for Science teacher. Position comes with $5,000 annual stipend on top of the salary. Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Middle School Science Teacher to inspire the next generation of scientists and critical thinkers. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop engaging curriculum, foster curiosity, and guide students through the fascinating worlds of biology, chemistry, physics, and earth sciences. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm for science education, strong classroom management skills, and a commitment to nurturing student success. Additionally, a $5,000 annual stipend is available to support ongoing professional development and classroom innovation. Duties Design and implement comprehensive science curricula aligned with educational standards, incorporating innovative instructional strategies and learning technology tools Deliver engaging lessons in areas such as biology, chemistry (including organic chemistry and biochemistry), physics (covering trigonometry, geometry, calculus, differential equations), and earth sciences Facilitate laboratory experiments, dissection activities, and research projects to enhance hands-on learning experiences in microbiology, genetics, molecular biology, cell biology, and other scientific disciplines Assess student progress through standardized testing, project evaluations, and formative assessments; provide constructive feedback to support growth Manage classroom behavior effectively while fostering an inclusive environment that encourages collaboration and inquiry Mentor students individually or in small groups through tutoring sessions or academic advising to reinforce understanding of complex concepts like algebra, discrete math, or scientific research methods Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, instructional design, and school-wide initiatives; participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Science Education or a related field; Master's degree preferred for higher education teaching experience Proven classroom experience with middle school students; private school experience is a plus Strong knowledge of scientific subjects including biology (biochemistry, genetics, microbiology), chemistry (organic chemistry), physics (including trigonometry and calculus), and mathematics (algebra, discrete math) Demonstrated expertise in laboratory techniques such as dissection procedures and microbiological research laboratory experience Familiarity with learning technology platforms and instructional design for science education Excellent communication skills to effectively engage students and collaborate with colleagues Experience with classroom management strategies and behavior management techniques Ability to develop lesson plans that incorporate research-based practices; proofreading skills are valuable for curriculum materials review Knowledge of standardized testing procedures and experience tutoring or mentoring students in science topics Commitment to inclusive education practices including special education accommodations when necessary Join us in shaping inquisitive minds through energetic teaching that sparks curiosity!
