Position Overview:
Windham Academy is seeking a passionate, dedicated, and student-centered Middle School Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will create an engaging and structured classroom environment that supports the academic, social, and emotional growth of middle school students. This educator will be committed to differentiated instruction, fostering student independence, and maintaining high expectations while supporting students during this important developmental stage.
Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction in assigned content area(s) (e.g., English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and/or Social Studies) Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic, social, and developmental needs of middle school students Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, responsibility, and student voice Use formative and summative assessment data to monitor student progress and guide instructional decisions Support students in developing organizational, executive functioning, and independent learning skills Collaborate with grade-level team members, special educators, and support staff to ensure student success Communicate regularly and effectively with families regarding student progress, behavior, and classroom activities Participate in team meetings, professional development, and school-wide initiatives Implement consistent and effective classroom management practices Maintain accurate records of student progress and required documentation
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Education or related field (Master's degree preferred) Valid New Hampshire Middle School certification or subject-area certification, or eligibility to obtain certification Strong knowledge of adolescent development and middle school instructional practices Experience with differentiated instruction and data-driven decision-making preferred Strong classroom management and organizational skills Excellent communication and collaboration skills Commitment to fostering a supportive, inclusive, and academically rigorous learning environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in specific content area(s) (ELA, Math, Science, or Social Studies) Experience working in a charter school or innovative educational setting Familiarity with Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) Experience collaborating with education staff and implementing accommodations Commitment to continuous professional growth
