MIG Welder

Job description:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Weld units/parts to print specifications o Welding Voltage Range of 25 to 32 volts o Feed rate of 200" to 500" per minute
• Weld from ¼ to 2 ½" thick steel. Must be able to put down at least a ¼" weld, 3/8" weld, welding continuous for at least 24".
• Maintain a neat work area
• Utilize standard work when available
• Cross train as needed
• Participates in discussions and improvement
• Communicate quality problems to Team Leader
• Ability to Mig weld thin aluminum is a plus!
• General skills specific to position:
• Quality minded o Reject tags - procedure & how to fill them out o Where to put non-conforming material & who to notify o When not to run product & who to notify o Complete in-process inspection forms where needed
• Ability to read blue prints o Title blocks o Revision levels o Views o Symbols o Tolerances
• Fixtures and tooling o Location of fixtures and tooling o Usage of fixtures and tooling
• Welding machine characteristics o Short arc weld range o Globular weld range o Weld gas pressure range
• Welding characteristics o Weld penetration o Weld consistency o Weld cleaning o Weld set-up per print o Selection of weld wire per print
• Perform preventative maintenance as required o Fill out daily/week/monthly PM sheets and/or forms
• ISO Training o Read & comply with all ISO procedures
• Excellent attendance
• Outstanding work ethic
• Ability to communicate with both employees and management
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing

Education Requirements:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred but not required.

Experience Requirements:

• 1 year weld experience (must pass a weld test)

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to occasionally lift 45 pounds.
• Ability to stand 8-10 hours daily.
