The role:
An AWC Milling Specialist is required to fulfill customer orders based on customer specifications. Customer orders will range from rough lumber to more complex re-dimensioning and molding operations. A successful milling specialist will learn the properties of the various hardwood species that AWC carries, and their appropriate applications. With this knowledge, our milling specialists will suggest best ways to achieve desired customer outcomes for specific profiles and material properties, constructing a plan of action with the AWC Operations Manager. In constructing this plan of action, the Milling Specialist must possess excellent communication abilities to be able to confer with the customer, should specific questions arise on the fulfillment of the order. Once a plan of action is established, the milling specialist will be responsible for collecting necessary materials, calculating inventory volumes to log out the inventory needed, and constructing the custom profiles for our customers. Milling specialists will be required to maintain a high level of communication skills within the team, and with the customer as their knowledge base grows. When it is time to make deliveries, Milling Specialists will be rotated onto a delivery route to interact with customers weekly through the delivery process. This will give the Milling Specialist a chance to see our products in our clients' manufacturing processes and allow the milling specialist to bring valuable insight back to AWC management about how we can improve our product offerings and processes. As a Milling Specialist becomes more senior, they will adopt a role as account manager for specific customers, serving as primary points of contact for customers that routinely work with AWC.Job Duties:

- Basic cleanup/maintenance of machinery/tools, and facility
