About Tessa's House Tessa's House provides residential substance use treatment services. We support adult women in building sustainable recovery through compassionate, ethical, and evidence-informed care. Position Summary The Substance Use Counselor provides clinical services in a residential setting, including assessments, individual/family/group counseling, treatment planning, documentation, and coordination of care. This role works closely with a multidisciplinary team to support client stabilization, treatment progress, and successful discharge planning. Key Responsibilities Complete biopsychosocial assessments upon admission Plan and provide individual and group counseling Expected to provide 20-25 hours a week of direct services Maintain a clinical caseload and support clients through their recovery process Develop, implement, and integrate treatment plans under clinical supervision Assess, evaluate, and communicate client progress toward treatment goals Participate in admissions and discharge processes, including transition planning Coordinate with clients, families, care teams, and community agencies to support continuity of care Provide clinical support and collaboration with other team members as needed Attend staff meetings, case conferences, trainings, and supervision as scheduled Monitor and document services and progress in compliance with licensing and reimbursement requirements Perform other duties as assigned in alignment with program needs Required Qualifications Licensure/Certification required: LADC, CADC, LCSW, LCPC, or LMFT (Maine) Master's degree preferred in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related field will accept others with appropriate licensing Minimum 1 year clinical experience in substance use treatment Minimum 60 hours of alcohol and drug education within the last 5 years Strong computer skills and clinical documentation competency Knowledge of human behavior, behavioral health assessment/treatment, and counseling theory/techniques Knowledge of group dynamics and facilitation Familiarity with community resources for clients and families Excellent written/verbal communication skills Demonstrated professionalism, ethics, initiative, and a non-judgmental approach Ability to maintain professional boundaries with clients and staff Willingness to complete ongoing continuing education to maintain licensure Ability to maintain emergency accessibility and work evenings/weekends as needed Work Environment & Physical Requirements Ability to speak clearly, document effectively, and use computers proficiently Regular use of hands/arms; may include reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, walking, standing, and sitting Additional Requirements Employment offers are contingent upon successful completion of background checks per state regulations Ability to travel to satellite facilities if required This position is contingent on licensing from the State of Maine Tessa's House is committed to a drug-free workplace Benefits Competitive pay Health/dental/vision insurance Paid time off Clinical supervision and training opportunities Supportive, mission-driven team environment

$50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
