Job Description

Position Summary This individual operates the MRI machine and adjacent equipment to produce/obtain images of the body for diagnostic purposes. In addition, they assist the radiologists in invasive procedures performed within the MRI suite. Reports directly to the MRI Lead and Director of Diagnostic Imaging/Interventional Services.
Qualifications Required:
Associate or bachelor's degree from an accredited Radiology program. ARRT registered; with required competencies and certification in MRI, or eligible to sit for certification within 6 months of hire. Maintains current OBMI licensure and has qualifications and experience determined to be adequate by Director of department and lead technologist to operate equipment and evaluate images obtained.
Preferred:
1 year or more experience in MRI Lic/Reg/Cert Current OBMI and ARRT licenses with specialty in MRI Typical Physical/Mental Demands Must be willing to participate in call rotation and weekend shifts to ensure 24-hour coverage in MRI. Medium to very heavy physical demand (lifting and moving patients 100 to 300 lbs) and must be able to work independently as well as with patients, hospital staff, and physicians. Essential Job Functions Competency in all equipment operation and applications and the ability to troubleshoot. Perform MRI procedures at a tech level in accordance with protocols. Maintain proper quality control procedures. Must have knowledge of regulatory requirements relating to MRI exams and equipment. Must be able to obtain a comprehensive history, perform screenings, start IV's, and administer contrast. Establish and maintain effective working relationship with patients, medical staff and leadership teams. Must be able to work extended hours when necessary. Maintain a safe and appropriate work area. Maintain inventory of supplies. Adhere to Sky Lakes work practices and policies. Knowledge of basic patient care and activities that may be necessary during exam. Attend required meetings and participate in committees as requested. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Work as a team member within the imaging department and all other departments. Document work processes as required. Maintain education to stay current with technologies and best practices. Participate in tech and student training, as well as MRI safety training. Maintain accurate patient records in PACS and EMR systems. Assist in developing new protocols or MR Imaging techniques.
