Job Title:
Network Engineer Job Description The Network Engineer sets up, configures, and supports computer networks to ensure that security systems such as cameras and door access operate reliably. This role works closely with field and project teams to ensure systems are correctly configured from the outset, assists with installations, and troubleshoots issues when systems are not working as expected. The Network Engineer also handles more complex technical problems that go beyond basic installation or general IT support, contributing to a secure and stable network environment. Responsibilities Set up and configure computer networks to support security systems including cameras and door access control. Support and maintain network infrastructure so that security systems operate reliably and consistently. Assist with the installation of security systems and related network components. Troubleshoot network and system issues when security systems are not functioning properly. Work closely with field teams to ensure network configurations meet system requirements during installation. Collaborate with project teams to confirm that systems are configured correctly from the start of each project. Take ownership of complex technical issues that extend beyond basic installation or standard IT support. Use network troubleshooting techniques and tools to diagnose and resolve connectivity and performance problems. Interpret and work from network schematics and diagrams to implement and support system designs. Apply knowledge of routing protocols and network switches to maintain efficient and secure network operations. Use Linux-based systems as part of network and system configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting. Leverage version control tools such as Git to manage configuration files and documentation related to network systems. Actively participate in ongoing learning and training to master camera system setup and related technologies. Essential Skills Demonstrated experience with computer network systems, including configuration and support. Ability to perform network troubleshooting to identify and resolve connectivity and performance issues. Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics and network diagrams. Basic to intermediate knowledge of Linux operating systems for network-related tasks. Familiarity with routing protocols and their role in network communication. Experience working with network switches in a professional environment. Comfort using Git or similar version control tools to manage configuration and technical documentation. Bachelor or Associate Degree in Network Engineering, or a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience. Strong interest in building a long-term career in networking and security systems. Willingness to learn new technologies and follow structured training on camera system setup. Additional Skills & Qualifications Formal education in Network Engineering at the Associate or Bachelor level. At least 2 years of relevant hands-on experience with computer networking if a degree is not held. Experience supporting security systems such as cameras or access control is beneficial. Ability to collaborate effectively with field and project teams in a fast-paced environment. Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to resolving technical challenges. Motivation to grow professionally through training and exposure to advanced security technologies. Work Environment This is an in-office role with standard working hours from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The position is based in a professional environment where you will work closely with field and project teams to support networked security systems. The facility provides an on-site gym for employees, supporting a healthy and balanced lifestyle. You will work with networking equipment such as switches and routing devices, Linux-based systems, and tools like Git as part of your daily responsibilities. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ripon, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $26.92 - $33.65/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
