Neurosurgery PA

Job Summary and Responsibilities Mercy Medical Group (MMG) , a multi-specialty group in the Sacramento region, is looking to add a Physician Assistant to our Neurosurgery team in Carmichael, CA. This position is primarily clinical with some surgical responsibilities. Clinical duties include post-op office visits and responding to patient inquiries. In the hospital setting, this role involves rounding and serving as a surgical first assistant. The work schedule is Monday through Friday with no call responsibilities and no weekends. Opportunity Highlights Helps with rounding, postop care in the hospital and clinic, and seeing some non-operative referrals Some surgical assisting, approximately 3-4 times per month Provides patient care within the scope of practice Obtains medical history, performs physical examinations, formulates differential diagnoses, and establishes treatment plans in collaboration with the treating physician Writes orders and prescribes medications, including controlled substances. Instructs and counsels patients and their families regarding diagnoses and treatment plans Completes all hospital and department documentation accurately and within designated timeframes. Acts as a liaison between physicians, nursing departments, and ancillary staff on behalf of patients and their families. Complies with all legal restrictions regarding lines of authority, supervision, and communication.
