The successful applicant will have a background in teaching high school students with ADHD, executive functioning challenges, and various learning differences. In addition, applicants should have expertise in helping students develop effective reading comprehension, written expression, and study skills, as well as the ability to support students in math, preferably through the Precalculus level. Applicants should also possess strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to create a positive, productive learning climate. Experience with reading educational evaluations to develop appropriate accommodation plans and Learning Skills program goals is also essential. Proficiency with Google Workspace and the Learning Management System, Canvas, is a plus. Applicants must also be able to manage workflow to meet deadlines promptly and thoroughly, have a commitment to excellence, and communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Patience, creativity, flexibility, and the ability to successfully address students' diverse, multiple learning needs within a tutorial environment are also required. The Learning Skills Specialist position is a full-time role when combined with additional responsibilities at the school such as coaching and/or residential life. An ideal candidate is a dynamic community presence and has a capacity to thrive in a comprehensive boarding school environment where involvement extends beyond the classroom.
