Qualifications:

Master's or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy Current certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) Required by Start Date Licensed as an occupational therapist with the Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) Required by Start Date Experience in school-based setting

Required Job Duties:

In the school setting, the Occupational Therapist (OT) supports students by addressing areas that may impact their educational performance. Responsibilities may include facilitating development and access in the following areas: Self-help skills such as feeding, dressing, and hygiene Fine, gross, and visual motor skill development Sensory and visual processing abilities Positioning, mobility, and transitions within the school environment Functional communication using alternative or augmentative methods Use of adaptive equipment and educational tools/toys The OT plays a critical role in helping students participate more fully in academic and daily school activities through targeted interventions and support.
