Job Description
Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Make a profound difference in the life of a medically fragile middle school student as a contract Occupational Therapist near Lansdale, PA. This highly specialized role calls for compassion, clinical expertise, and a commitment to continuity of care. You'll provide in-person therapy to a bed-bound student, collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive support. Ideal candidates are bilingual in Spanish and English, as the student's parents are Spanish-speaking, enabling you to foster strong communication and trust. Non-bilingual Occupational Therapists are also encouraged to apply, as interpreter services may be provided to ensure seamless family engagement.
Desired Background and Skills:
Licensed Occupational Therapist with experience in school-based and/or home health settings Ability to deliver individualized therapeutic interventions to medically fragile students Bilingual Spanish/English language proficiency preferred (not required) Strong communication skills and sensitivity to cultural and linguistic diversity Reliability and a genuine desire to offer ongoing support—potential for multi-year placementKey Responsibilities:
Provide direct, in-person OT for 2.5 hours weekly, focusing on the individualized needs of the student Work alongside other therapy disciplines (SLP, PT) to coordinate comprehensive care (total therapy time for the student is 7.5 hours collectively per week) Communicate effectively with the student's family and school personnel Maintain thorough documentation of progress and collaborate to adapt the care plan as needed Perks of theAssignment:
