Job Description
Category Schools - PT Job Type Contract Make a meaningful difference as a Physical Therapist supporting a medically fragile, bed-bound middle school student in a contract position located just outside Philadelphia. This unique, year-round opportunity allows you to build an ongoing, impactful relationship with one student, providing crucial therapy in a setting where consistency and compassion make all the difference. This position seeks a bilingual (Spanish/English) Physical Therapist, as the student's parents are most comfortable communicating in Spanish. If you are a qualified PT but not bilingual, your application is still welcome, and language support may be arranged. Reliability and a commitment to fostering long-term continuity for this student are highly valued.
Key Qualifications:
Pennsylvania-licensed Physical Therapist Experience in school-based, pediatric, or healthcare PT settings Bilingual Spanish/English skills strongly preferred Compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach Strong interpersonal and communication abilities Willingness to collaborate with an interdisciplinary team (SLP, OT) Ability to provide in-person therapy (teletherapy not an option)Role and Responsibilities:
Deliver personalized physical therapy sessions, 2.5 hours per week, tailored to the needs of a medically complex, non-ambulatory student Coordinate with occupational and speech therapy providers for integrated care Maintain consistent scheduling and documentation Build trust and clear communication with the student's family, using Spanish when possible Adjust support as needed in alignment with student progress and evolving needs Participate in long-term planning for extended care (with potential for expanded hours) Envision yourself making a sustained impact in a collaborative, rewarding setting.
