Posting Reference IND1 Location Kinde, MI, USA Type Full Time Job Category Operations Apply for this Job EthosEnergy is seeking an Operations and Maintenance Technician - Wind for its Deerfield Wind Farm located in Kinde, MI. The primary purpose of this position is to provide direct operations and maintenance at a wind generating facility. The Operations and Maintenance Technician (OMT) is responsible for the overall operations and maintenance of the Balance of Plant (BOP) and wind turbine equipment, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient performance. Job Responsibilities Perform on-site operations, maintenance, repair, and inspection of wind turbine systems. Troubleshoot and diagnose issues related to mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems in wind turbines. Perform scheduled preventative maintenance tasks to ensure continued optimal performance of wind turbines. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and procedures during onshore and offshore work activities. Collaborate with other technicians, engineers, and project managers to complete projects on time and within budget constraints. Coordinate with site managers to ensure proper communication of progress reports and updates. Contribute to the continuous improvement of operational processes through feedback, innovation, and efficiency improvements. Participate in ongoing training sessions to stay up-to-date with industry best practices. Understand long-term O&M contracts, ensuring contractual requirements are met on a daily basis. Assist plant owners with long-term operational and maintenance issues as they arise. Oversee contractor work quality and safety procedures on a regular basis. Operate the facility in accordance with standard industry practices and regulatory requirements, including local and remote operations of equipment raging from 345kV to 24V. Execute maintenance activities to minimize downtime and revenue impact. Maintain access roads and perform snow removal as needed to ensure uninterrupted site access and O&M contract compliance. Expedite timely repairs of wind turbines, high/medium voltage equipment, meteorological towers, communication systems, substations, and other site assets. Required Skills / Knowledge Proven hands-on experience in testing, analyzing, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting. Experience with SCADA systems for monitoring and troubleshooting is highly desirable. Proficiency in Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel is required. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential. Demonstrated analytical and quantitative abilities for interpreting data and generating actionable insights. Excellent organizational skills, self-motivation, and consistency in meeting deadlines. Strong attention to detail and effective problem-solving capabilities. Ability to analyze and interpret data effectively to make sound professional judgments and provide informed recommendations. Experience 1-3 years' experience working on maintaining a wind facility Ability to travel, on occasion, within North America Experience in industrial plant operations and maintenance. Basic understanding of hydraulic systems. Education Requirements High School diploma or equivalent required. Associates Degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college to technical school preferred Physical Requirements Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor environments throughout the year. Exposure to varying weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold. Regular work at heights exceeding 400 feet. Considerable physical effort may be required during maintenance, repair, and equipment modification activities. Strong eye-hand coordination required to safely operate and repair equipment. Physically capable of performing demanding tasks such as climbing wind turbine towers multiple times per day.
