Position Overview Melcar, Ltd. is seeking a skilled and motivated Jack & Bore Foreman to join our growing trenchless operations team. This is a dynamic, field-based role centered on the successful execution of regional underground infrastructure projects. As a key leader on-site, you will represent Melcar, Ltd. directly to clients, championing safe work practices and driving project efficiency. You will act as the vital communication link between field crews, project managers, and the main office. Outside of active crew leadership, you will collaborate with our estimating team to build precise project bids, and coordinate with yard and maintenance staff to keep our equipment and inventory in peak condition.

Key Requirements & Capabilities Equipment Operation:

Proven ability to operate auger boring and guided bore machinery, along with excavators and specialized heavy machinery.

Crew Leadership:

Strong experience leading field crews on underground infrastructure projects.

Safety First:

A demonstrated, uncompromised commitment to workplace safety standards.

Technical Skills:

Proficient in survey/layout techniques, managing welders, laborers and operators with the ability to supervise specialized technicians.

Site Preparation:

Hands-on experience with excavating, shoring, and dewatering both jacking and receiving pits.

Reporting & Tech:

Ability to use a computer for daily reports, JHAs/JSAs, and project documentation (training provided, but strong attention to detail is essential).

Plan Reading:

Ability to accurately read, interpret, and execute blueprint plans. Compensation & Benefits Melcar, Ltd. employs a diverse, skilled labor force consisting of both union and non-union team members. Union Candidates Competitive Pay:

Local hourly rate based on union jurisdiction.

Daily Per Diem:

$100 per diem for every day worked.

Company Vehicle:

Access to a company truck and fuel card, or a negotiated truck allowance for personal vehicles.

Premium Lodging:

Private, single-occupant hotel room accommodations during travel. Non-Union (Salaried)

Candidates Base Pay:

Highly competitive salary commensurate with experience.

Paid Time Off:

Generous PTO and holiday pay package.
