Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Make a meaningful difference in a developmental summer camp setting by providing essential support to a 19-year-old student with autism and intellectual disabilities. This contract role offers an engaging opportunity to work closely alongside a dedicated team in Skagit County, focusing on delivering impactful behavioral support in a positive, inclusive environment.
Schedule:
Monday through Thursday, 9:30 AM - 2:00 PM Specific weeks: July 6-9, July 13-16, July 20-23, July 27-30, August 3-6 Ideal candidates are enthusiastic about working with neurodiverse youth and thrive when supporting social, academic, and daily living skills in a summer camp atmosphere.
What You'll Bring:
Experience as a Paraprofessional, particularly in school or camp settings Background in supporting individuals with autism and/or intellectual disabilities Ability to implement behavioral strategies to promote positive engagement and independence Strong communication skills to collaborate with educational staff, therapists, and families Patience, adaptability, and a sincere commitment to fostering student growth Reliable transportation to Skagit County for all scheduled days
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide consistent, individualized assistance with behavior management and program participation Facilitate engagement in group and recreational activities Support the development of communication, social, and life skills Monitor student safety and well-being at all times Maintain accurate daily notes and communicate progress to camp leaders This position offers the fulfillment of making a direct impact in a young adult's life within a supportive summer camp community and an opportunity to build meaningful professional experience in behavioral intervention and special education.
