Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Support a positive and enriching experience for a 19-year-old student with autism and intellectual disabilities as a behavioral support paraprofessional in a developmental summer camp program. Located near Bellingham, WA, this contract opportunity provides an engaging environment where your skills and compassion will make a meaningful difference. The role involves working Monday through Thursday, 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM, on these dates: July 6-9, July 13-16, July 20-23, July 27-30, and August 3-6.
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a paraprofessional or in a behavior support role, especially within educational or camp settings Knowledge of autism spectrum disorder and intellectual disabilities Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to implement individualized support strategies and adapt as needed Collaborative spirit and a patient, positive attitude Reliable and punctual, able to maintain consistency for the student
Responsibilities:
Provide direct behavioral and developmental support to a 19-year-old participant within a structured summer camp Assist in implementing individualized goals and activities in coordination with the camp team Monitor and reinforce positive behavior Support the student with daily routines, activities, and transitions throughout the camp day Collaborate with staff and family members to ensure a safe, supportive, and enjoyable experience Document observations and communicate student progress as required This position offers a unique chance to support personal growth for a young adult while being part of a dynamic summer program.
