Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Step into a meaningful summer position where your passion for supporting students can truly make a difference. An exciting contract opportunity is available for a Paraprofessional specializing in behavioral support. This unique role centers on providing dedicated assistance to a 19-year-old student with autism and intellectual disabilities, helping them participate fully in a developmental summer camp program. Working in a supportive environment near Mount Vernon, WA, you'll play a vital role in fostering growth, independence, and positive experiences. The program schedule offers consistency with shifts Monday through Thursday, 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM, on the following weeks: July 6-9, July 13-16, July 20-23, July 27-30, and August 3-6. Ideal candidates bring compassion, professional commitment, and adaptability. Your talents will have an immediate, positive impact, making each camp day engaging and meaningful for the student.
Qualifications:
Prior experience as a Paraprofessional, especially in school or camp settings Demonstrated knowledge of autism and intellectual disabilities Background providing behavioral support in educational or recreational programs Effective communication and collaboration with educators, therapists, and family Patience, creativity, and a proactive approach to challenges Ability to encourage engagement and celebrate each achievement
Responsibilities:
