Job Description

Under the supervision of the AmCare Leadership team the Paramedic is an integral part of the AmCare EMS team, providing medical care during emergent and nonemergent transports. The Paramedic is responsible for assessing patients' conditions, administering advanced life support, and transporting patients to medical facilities for further treatment. Paramedics are an integral part of the healthcare system, provide critical care during emergencies and making a significant impact on patient's lives. The role of the Paramedic requires exceptional leadership qualities, advanced training and education, demands quick thinking, compassion, and the ability to work as part of a team to deliver timely and effective pre-hospital care.

AHA ACLS
CPR or ability to obtain within 10 days of hire Current
AHA PALS
CPR or ability to obtain within 10 days of hire Knowledge of pumps, vents, and monitors utilized in EMS care Ability to provide quality patient care within scope of practice Knowledge of all state protocols for a Paramedic Clear search on the VT AHS Adult Abuse Registry and Child Protection Registry databases Valid driver's license Ability to drive company vehicles with a clean driving record Successful completion of a state sponsored EVOC course or ability to obtain in 90 days Ability to pass a lift test of 150 - 200 pounds Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test Ability to pass a pre-employment background check Ability to speak and write English Preferred Skills Leadership experience Excellent customer service skills Knowledge of medical terminology and writing patient care reports Problem solving Ability to remain calm under pressure Previous EMS experience We'd love for you to join the AmCare team!
