Part-Time Private Household Housekeeper

Job Description We're seeking a long-term, part-time housekeeper to support the ongoing care and smooth operation of a private home through consistent, high-quality household maintenance. Responsibilities include maintaining the home in a clean, orderly, and guest-ready condition through routine cleaning and tidying, laundry and linen care, kitchen reset and dish management, light organization, restocking household supplies, and waste and recycling management. The role emphasizes continuity and attention to detail, with deep cleaning tasks completed on an established rotation. The housekeeper should be comfortable working independently, managing task priorities thoughtfully, and following established household systems and schedules. Because the home contains some delicate items, we're looking for someone especially careful, attentive, and respectful in their work. This role requires a high level of trust, reliability, and professionalism, including respect for privacy and confidentiality. Key Responsibilities Household Maintenance and Cleaning Maintain the home in a clean, organized, and guest-ready condition Perform routine cleaning of all primary living areas, including: kitchen, bathrooms, living spaces, office, and entryways Dusting, vacuuming (including stairwell and upholstery), and floor care Kitchen reset and dishwashing as needed Bathroom cleaning and upkeep (5.5 bathrooms) Deep Cleaning (rotation-based) Complete deeper cleaning tasks on an established rotation, including: baseboards, trim, and detailed dusting interior cabinet fronts and appliances window sills, vents, and other detail areas Laundry and Linen Care Wash, dry, fold, and put away household laundry Change bed linens weekly Maintain towels and household linens Light ironing and steaming as needed Organization and Household Support Maintain general organization and order throughout the home Restock toiletries and household supplies Monitor inventory and communicate supply needs Additional Responsibilities Light pet care (cat) Garbage, recycling, and compost management Maintain awareness of household needs and communicate proactively Working Style and Expectations Maintain home in a guest-ready condition at all times Work independently and manage task priorities thoughtfully Follow established household systems and cleaning rotation Care for specialty items as instructed Demonstrate discretion around private household information, family routines, guests, valuables, documents, and personal belongings Ideal Candidate Experienced in private homes (preferred) Detail-oriented with a strong sense of care and ownership Attentive to delicate items and high-quality materials Reliable, consistent, and comfortable working independently Interested in a long-term, stable role Able to provide at least two recent professional references, preferably from private household, housekeeping, or long-term service roles Schedule Starting at 20 hours per week Typically 3 days per week (example: Mon/Wed/Fri or Mon/Wed/Sat) Regular, consistent schedule to be agreed upon Benefits Paid time off (40 hours annually) Paid holidays (pro-rated for schedule) Annual bonus based on performance and longevity Stable, long-term schedule with consistent hours Vetting and Hiring Process Because this role is based in a private home and requires a high level of trust, finalists should expect a thorough hiring process. $38.00 - $40.00 per hour
