Job Description

Parts & Shipping/Receiving Manager Parts & Shipping/Receiving reports directly to the Purchasing Manager and works very closely with the Controller, Purchasing and AR/AP Teams. This position performs the following tasks: Hours are 6:30 am - 4:30 pm Monday through Friday with ½ hr. for lunch. Operate forklift and receive items off tractor trailer Receive equipment and materials from outside vendors and allocate to stock, current or pending jobs. Receive packages from UPS, Fed-Ex, TForce or other parcel services and allocate to stock, current or pending jobs. When equipment/packages are received, they must be checked in and any shortages or damage must be noted immediately. 1)If it is short, you must let the purchasing manager know of the shortage. 2)If damaged, you must let the purchasing manager know of the damage. 3)If it comes by freight (and you notice the damage) you must get the driver to sign the B.O.L. that it was damaged upon delivery. Check packing list against Purchase Order for completeness and pass to Inventory Control for modifying inventory status. Label all received parts with the appropriate Service Work Order, Sales Order or Construction Work Order number. Assist any counter sales clients with loading or unloading equipment / parts. Receive requests from the Construction Department & Service Department for parts needed. Daily assistance getting construction crews loaded up and on the road. Replenish Service Trucks via reports generated through Service application. Stage parts for Service jobs or pass along for ordering to Purchase Manager Receive requests from the Penske Helpdesk for parts shipments to various customers. Pull parts from stock and ship to customers nationwide via UPS WorldShip, TForce Freight or pass along to Purchasing Manager for ordering. Organize all warehouses, both inside and outside, for tidiness and easy retrieval of equipment and materials per project. Weekly sweep of the main parking lot for nails, screws, cigarette butts, etc. Stage & Ship all National Account project orders. Ship sales orders and document costs for billing Process returns of equipment from Construction & Service and ensure inventory accuracy and job credit processing Perform random stock counts prior to and assist Purchasing and Inventory Control in managing annual physical inventory (Always the day after Thanksgiving) Work with Purchasing Manager in ensuring adequate stock levels on shelves and other warehouses Break down old dispensers and / or salvage parts for PWI stock as needed. Make sure that "common areas" (lobby, hallways, break areas, etc.) are kept tidy and fully stocked with any paper goods. Monitor and continuously organize the recycling barrels (Rags, Filters, and Liquid). Maintain a consistent supply of empty barrels. Communicate with Construction Manager and / or Purchasing Manager if additional barrels are needed. Keep the area around the back lot dumpster clean and free from accumulated trash. Communicate with Purchasing Manager and / or Construction Manager when a new dumpster is needed. Assist with construction projects as needed. Pick up / deliver parts for construction and/or service as needed. Lock up warehouses and doors prior to leaving at night.
