Job Description
Job Summary:
Maintains payroll information by directing the collection, calculation, and entering of data Updates payroll records by reviewing and approving changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job titles, and department/ division transfers Pays employees by directing the production and issuance of paychecks or electronic transfers to bank accounts Prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages Validates payroll liabilities by approving the calculation of employee federal and state income and social security taxes, and employer's social security, unemployment, and workers compensation payments Understanding of unions and union remittances Balances the payroll accounts by resolving payroll discrepancies Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed Perform other administrative tasks as assignedRequirements and Education:
2-5 years of payroll experience required Experience processing prevailing wage and certified payroll Strong time management and organizational skills Understanding of compensation and wage structures, benefits administration, union agreements, and prevailing wage regulations Proven experience managing multi-state payroll operations, including knowledge of state-specific tax withholdings, unemployment insurance (SUI), and regulatory compliancePreferred Requirements and Education:
6+ years of payroll experience preferred Bachelor's degree strongly preferred Experience with ADP and/or Vista Viewpoint preferred EEO Statement AIS Infrastructure Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
