position only. We do not offer any remote options. We are not able to offer relocation assistance. Full-time or Part-time hours available, with a set schedule W-2 Employee or 1099 Contract optionsPosition Summary:
Speech Language Pathology Assistants work under the direct supervision of a Speech Language Pathologist. They follow a treatment plan provided by the SLP.They treat disorders related to:
articulation, language, communication (AAC), voice, cognition, and fluency.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Treat patients with disorders related to speech, language, communication, voice, cognition, and fluency. Follow treatment plans that outline treatment goals and methods to be used under the direct supervision of a SLP. Provide support, guidance, and education to the child's families/caregivers. Collaborate with other health care professionals (teachers, therapists, doctors). Treat children 0-21 years of age in the clinic, daycare, school, home, or virtual setting. Provide screening and make appropriate referrals. Complete daily notes for each session. Other duties as assigned.Expectations:
Complete paperwork and documentation within appropriate time frames. Collaborate and communicate with supervisors to ensure treatment is being performed appropriately. Ensure best therapeutic practices under the guidance of a SLP. Maintain appropriate relationships and collaborate with team members, department members, supervisors, staff, parents and outside agencies. Demonstrate reliability in attendance, punctuality, and task completion.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in communication disorders Current Florida state license Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and auto insurance Professional Liability Insurance (if Independent Contractor) Medicaid Number preferred, but not requiredWork Environment:
Services may be provided in clinics, and/or school settings May involve physical activity and behavioral interventions requiring quick response and safety awareness.Physical Demands:
Ability to sit, stand, kneel, and move quickly to keep pace with clients during sessions. Ability to lift or physically support clients as necessary. Ability to implement crisis intervention techniques as trained.Job Types:
