  • Standardized Patient (SP)
  • acts as a lay person or patient to portray medical illnesses as part of training for students and employees.
Every day you will portray patients by consistently recreating specific medical histories, emotional states, and physical symptoms based on provided scripts. Facilitate Training by acting as a patient during physical examinations to help students practice their clinical and communication skills. Evaluate Learners by providing objective, detailed feedback and completing performance checklists for students following each encounter. Adapt & Collaborate by working effectively with faculty, participating in debriefings, and supporting training activities—including acting as the voice for medical mannequins. Maintain Records by accurately inputting assessment data into our computer systems and maintaining the confidentiality of all training materials. To be successful in this role, you will need: + Strong performance skills including the ability to memorize and portray complex characters with consistency, accuracy, and realism. + Technical proficiency with comfort using a computer for email, scheduling, and entering electronic survey data to score student performance. + Exceptional communication skills that are clear, professional, and constructive in both verbal and written forms. + A commitment to ethics through a deep respect for confidentiality and the ability to maintain the integrity of training materials and assessment data. + A growth mindset characterized by a willingness to accept on-going constructive feedback from educators and managers to refine your performance.
