13th Manor Live Show Actor Temporary / Seasonal Performance Gig Paid Per Performance Day Nightmare on 13th is seeking talented performers for the 13th Manor, our new live theatrical scare experience. Unlike a traditional haunted house acting position, the 13th Manor is a seated live horror show combining theatrical performance, storytelling, scares, sound, lighting, fog, and practical special effects. Actors will perform the same approximately 20 to 25-minute show multiple times throughout each scheduled performance day, often with short reset periods between shows. Responsibilities Perform a designated character in multiple live shows each performance day. Memorize and consistently deliver scripted dialogue, blocking, scares, and performance cues. Maintain strong character performance and energy throughout repeated performances. Work closely with other performers and show operators to maintain proper timing. React to and work around programmed lighting, sound, fog, moving effects, air effects, vibration, and other theatrical elements. Perform in dark or extremely low-light environments. Quickly reset costumes, props, scenery, and performance areas between shows when required. Follow all established show procedures, safety requirements, and emergency protocols. Maintain the intended tone and storyline of the production while appropriately adapting to live audience reactions. Arrive on time and prepared for costume, makeup, sound checks, rehearsals, and pre-show preparation. Treat costumes, props, equipment, scenery, and show technology with care. Help maintain a professional and safe backstage and performance environment. What We're Looking For Strong acting, character, and storytelling ability. Ability to memorize dialogue, blocking, and detailed performance cues. Strong vocal projection and the stamina to perform repeated shows throughout the day or evening. Ability to give a consistent performance even after performing the same material multiple times. Comfortable performing directly in front of live audiences. Comfortable working in darkness and around loud, sudden, and repetitive noises. Comfortable working around theatrical fog, flashing or strobing lights, compressed-air effects, vibration, moving scenery, and other special effects. Ability to remain focused around distractions and unexpected audience reactions. Reliable transportation and dependable attendance. Ability to work well with performers, technicians, managers, and other production staff. Previous acting, theater, haunted attraction, improv, or live entertainment experience is preferred but not required for every role. Physical and Environmental Requirements Performers should be able to: Stand, walk, crouch, bend, and move repeatedly throughout a performance day. Perform in enclosed theatrical environments for extended periods. Work in low-light and dark environments. Tolerate loud music, sound effects, screams, fog, flashing lights, and sudden special effects. Speak loudly and repeatedly while maintaining vocal control. Wear assigned costumes, makeup, masks, prosthetics, or other character elements as required. Safely navigate backstage and performance areas with limited lighting. Perform multiple 20 to 25-minute shows with relatively short breaks between performances. Reasonable accommodations may be available depending on the requirements of the individual role. Schedule and Compensation This is a temporary performance engagement and is not a traditional full-time or part-time position. Performers are paid a predetermined rate for each scheduled performance day. Performance days may include multiple back-to-back shows, rehearsals, pre-show preparation, and reasonable reset time between performances. Performers must be available for all dates they commit to and are expected to remain available for the entire scheduled call time on those dates.
