Overview Los Angeles AcroDance Academy is looking to hire a teacher for our younger classes (ages 3-11) on Sundays. Our studio is a smaller, non-competitive environment specializing in classical training and dance acrobatics. For this role, I'm seeking someone who genuinely enjoys working with young children (ages 2.5-5) and has at least three years of teaching experience with these age groups. Sundays are dedicated to our recreational students who typically take one class per week. This position's pay range will vary based on experience. A strong understanding of early childhood development, developmentally appropriate curriculum, and effective teaching methods is essential. We provide our own curriculum and benchmarks to support our teachers. Building strong relationships with students and families is also a key aspect of this position. The classes involve creative movement, pre-ballet, jazz, and basic acrobatics (including rolls, bridges, cartwheels, and handstands). While the acrobatic skills are fundamental, I am happy to provide teacher training and curriculum in this area. My primary need is for a strong dance teacher whom I can then train in the acrobatic skills. Additionally, this position includes leading two choreography sessions for our Little Stars Performance Troupe (ages 4-7). This group rehearses for five weeks in the fall and five weeks in the spring, learning two different performances. It's a short-term performance opportunity for students who are too young to audition for our Company but are eager for more stage experience. Schedule we need filled... Excellent classroom management skills with the ability to engage students effectively. Experience working with children, including early childhood education or preschool experience. Knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management strategies.
