09/17/2026 The Musical Choreographer is hired exclusively to create, teach, and refine all choreography for the Littleton High School's annual musical. This role focuses on creating engaging and accessible movement that enhances the artistic vision of the production. The Choreographer works collaboratively with the Director and student cast throughout the rehearsal period leading up to the musical's performances, and is also present for production week rehearsals. Responsibilities Creative Responsibilities Create original choreography for all dance and movement sequences in the school musical, including large ensemble numbers, specialty dances, transitions, and curtain call. Teach choreography to students with varying levels of dance and performance experience. Adapt choreography as needed to ensure it is developmentally appropriate, safe, and inclusive. Rehearsal Responsibilities Attend and lead choreography rehearsals as scheduled by the Director. Teach and review choreography efficiently, ensuring students feel confident and supported. Work with stage management to communicate spacing, formations, and transitions. Participate in tech week and make any necessary final adjustments based on staging, safety needs, or performance notes. Communication Responsibilities Communicate regularly with the Director and Music Director to align artistic vision, musical phrasing, and rehearsal priorities. Coordinate with costume, set, and props teams to ensure movement is practical and safe. Support a positive, inclusive rehearsal culture that encourages student growth and confidence. Qualifications Required Previous experience choreographing musicals or theatrical dance numbers. Ability to teach choreography clearly and adapt instruction for students of all skill levels. Strong understanding of musical theatre dance styles and staging. Ability to model professional rehearsal etiquette and supportive feedback. Must pass a CBI background check This position is required to rehearse with the cast 2-3 times a week (starting the week of Jan. 4, 2027) leading up to the performances, and must also be present during ALL production week rehearsals (March 1-6 is our 2027 production week; shows March 4-6) Preferred Experience working with middle or high school students. Background in dance, theatre, musical theatre, or performing arts education. $39.50 (cash/check) background check and fingerprint fee due upon hire.Benefits
