Job Description
Voice Teacher / Vocal Instructor Descant Music and Art Studio in Holyoke, MA is looking for a part-time voice teacher to join our studio. This is a 1099 independent contractor position . We currently have about 6-8 teaching hours per week of students ready to be placed with a new teacher , with room to build toward 10-20 hours per week depending on your availability and student demand. We're looking for someone who is personable, dependable, comfortable working one-on-one with students, and has a strong background as a vocalist. Prior teaching experience is not required. What matters more to us is solid vocal experience, a good understanding of healthy vocal technique, and the ability to connect with students and make lessons enjoyable and productive. The Role You'll teach private voice lessons to students of varying ages and experience levels at our Holyoke studio. We provide the teaching space and students, so you do not need to recruit your own students or maintain your own studio.
Responsibilities include:
Teaching one-on-one voice lessons Helping students develop healthy vocal technique, breath support, musicianship, and confidence Adapting lessons to each student's goals, interests, and experience level Maintaining a consistent and reliable teaching schedule Communicating with studio administration as needed What We're Looking For Strong personal experience as a vocalist A good understanding of healthy vocal technique Friendly, patient, engaging personality Dependability and good communication Genuine interest in helping students learn and improve Experience teaching voice is a plus, but not a requirement . Familiarity with music reading or basic piano skills is also helpful, but not necessary.Job Type:
