Job Description

Job Summary We are a multi-ethnic, Global Methodist Church seeking a passionate and energetic Part-Time Church Music Director to lead and inspire our congregation through vibrant musical worship. This role is vital in fostering a welcoming spiritual environment by selecting, rehearsing, and conducting praise and worship music that enhances our church services. The ideal candidate will possess strong musical leadership skills and a heart for ministry. S/he must be able to adhere to the doctrines and practices of the Global Methodist Church. This position offers an exciting opportunity to mentor choir members, manage musical productions, and contribute to the spiritual growth of our faith community. Duties Lead and conduct church choir and praise team during weekly services and special events, ensuring engaging and meaningful musical experiences Select appropriate music that aligns with liturgical seasons, themes, and congregational needs Rehearse with vocalists and instrumentalists to prepare for upcoming services, fostering a collaborative team environment Provide vocal training and mentoring to choir members to enhance their singing skills and confidence Manage the scheduling, organization, and development of musical teams, including volunteers and paid musicians Oversee the maintenance of musical instruments such as piano, keyboard, guitars, drums, and other church-owned equipment Collaborate with pastor and church leadership on music selection and integration into worship services to support spiritual messages Qualifications Proven experience in church service musical performance, conducting church choirs or praise teams, with a strong background in vocal music Knowledge of musical liturgical traditions across various Christian denominations Ability to read sheet music fluently and manage musical arrangements for different service formats Skilled in managing musical productions from planning through execution for weekly services and special events Experience with teaching vocal techniques and providing vocal training to diverse age groups Familiarity with playing piano or other musical instruments is highly desirable Strong leadership, communication skills, and the ability to motivate volunteers while fostering a positive team atmosphere Prior experience working within nonprofit faith-based organizations is preferred Demonstrated ability to mentor others in musical skills while maintaining a respectful and encouraging environment Join us in creating uplifting worship experiences that inspire faith and community!
Pay:
$15,000.00 - $16,000.00 per year People with a criminal record are encouraged to apply
