Club Sponsor

JOB SUMMARY

The club sponsor will supervise students during scheduled meetings. The sponsor will organize approved fundraisers throughout the year in order to meet the needs of the club's expenses. The sponsor will supervise students in planning and executing events throughout the year.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Maintains a variety of documents including club's activity account budget, field trip forms, and attendance records for club meetings and events.

Recruits club members throughout the school year in order to keep an active club.

Follows fundraising procedures according to the Sponsor Handbook

Supervises students during weekly meetings in accordance with school policies.

Requests room space for weekly meetings and events to be approved and makes travel arrangements in advance.

Creates fliers and posters for weekly meetings which includes event time and location and obtains approval before posting.

Promotes and publicizes club meetings and events by utilizing announcements, fliers and posters, etc….

Engages students in community service activities.

Maintains positive relationships with students, supports our diverse population, and interacts with students and adults in a respectful manner.

Sets goals with students to maintain the purpose of the club.

Plans activities to meet the needs, skills, and interests of the students involved.

Uses appropriate channels to resolve concerns and problems.

Adheres to district policies and procedures

Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient functioning of the club.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversee the implementation of all district policies, school rules and procedures Arrange for the use of building facilities and transportation

Execute other duties and assignments as required

QUALIFICATIONS

Illinois Teaching License Preferred

Illinois Substitute Teaching Certificate

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Salary is based on a stipend determined through the Urbana School District #116 and UEA Collective Bargaining Agreement., internal applicants only

EVALUATION

Performance of this job will be evaluated by the building principal(s), in consultation with the Director of Professional Development and in accordance with provisions of the negotiated agreement using the district's evaluation instrument.

NOTE:

This is a position within the collective bargaining unit and is not an administrative position.
