On-site Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Catholic Worship Music Director to provide professional music leadership for Catholic worship services at Whiteman Air Force Base. The Music Director will plan and lead appropriate Catholic liturgical music, conduct rehearsals, coordinate volunteer musicians and vocalists, and support Sunday services and designated special events. Work Schedule Support regularly scheduled Catholic worship services and related activities. Conduct at least one rehearsal each week , scheduled on a different day from the worship service. Support special Catholic services and events as scheduled. Arrive at least 10 minutes before rehearsals and 30 minutes before worship services and special events . Services, rehearsals, and meetings may last up to two hours per event . Key Responsibilities Select and coordinate music appropriate for Catholic worship and the liturgical calendar. Lead congregational singing and provide vocal direction during services. Conduct weekly rehearsals with musicians and vocalists. Recruit, organize, and coordinate volunteer singers and musicians. Coordinate weekly music selections with chapel leadership. Assist with setup and breakdown of music-related equipment. Operate or coordinate the use of sound and worship presentation equipment as needed. Maintain professional and reliable communication regarding rehearsals, services, and special events. Qualifications Demonstrated experience directing or leading Catholic worship music. Strong vocal ability and confidence leading congregational singing. Knowledge of Catholic liturgy, worship traditions, and appropriate sacred music. Ability to direct and coordinate musicians and vocalists. Strong communication, organization, and reliability. Ability to successfully complete required background and installation-access requirements. Ability to play piano/keyboard or guitar is preferred but not required .
