Job Description

CONTRACT HOURS
10 hours per week, salaried (including Sundays)
OVERVIEW
The Music Director part-time position has the prime directive to glorify our Lord Jesus Christ, bring excellence to the worship and lay engagement ministries, and be used by God to facilitate discipleship growth and leadership development at Campbell United Methodist Church.
ACCOUNTABILITY
  • Reports to and is under the supervision of the Senior Pastor.
  • Coordinates with other staff (especially worship staff) and church members, working collaboratively as required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    Worship:
    • Directs, has oversight, and ministers to the Campbell Choir, and other worship groups that are a part of Campbell's traditional worship offerings (such as Bell Choir).
    • Selects music and prepares musical offerings for all Campbell events involving the Choir or soloists/combos chosen by the Music Director.
    • Work with the Senior Pastor in designing worship order and worship themes.
    • Work with the Senior Pastor and other worship staff in leading worship services.
    Administrative:
    • Works with accompanist and other worship music leaders.
    • Works with pastor on performance worship budget.
    • Meet weekly with the Senior Pastor for worship planning.
    QUALIFICATIONS
    • Undergraduate college education in Performing Arts/Music is preferred.
    • Must be able to read music and lead others in doing so.
    • Be an organized self-starter, able to work independently and as a part of a team as situations dictate.
    • Personable and with exceptional communication skills.
    • Must be willing and able to disciple people in providing individual leadership development and creation of lay ministry teams.
    • Enthusiasm and passion for people, the church, and building God's kingdom.
    • Must embrace Christian discipline and United Methodist theology.
    OTHER INFORMATION
    • To be paid a salary which will be decided by the Senior Pastor in accordance with church policy.
    • Paid on the 15th and last day of each month.
    • Vacations, holidays, and benefits as stated in the CUMC Personnel Policy.
