Job Description
The Unitarian Universalist Congregation at Willamette Falls in Oregon City is looking for a 6 hour/week Choir Director starting this fall. Duties include directing UUCWF's choir, and possibly leading hymns during our Sunday services. The choir is an all-volunteer, non-auditioned, SATB ensemble, and performs two or three times per month from September through May. The choir has one evening rehearsal weekly and rehearses each Sunday morning that they sing. At this point, we expect the choir director to only be at services on Sundays that the choir is singing. Collaboration with the minister and accompanist is very important. Flexibility is a highly desirable skill. We are open to and appreciate a variety of music styles, including contemporary music, as well as traditional sacred music, gospel and folk. Desirable skills also include a collaborative nature, ability to lead hymns well, and familiarity with Unitarian Universalism. Experience should include a Bachelor's in Music or the equivalent (3+ years) of working with amateur voices in an ensemble capacity. The position is for 6 hours a week, pay rate is approximately $30 an hour. Please send a resume and cover letter to Minister@uucwf.org
