Traditional Choir Director 50 East King Street, Littlestown, PA 17340 Part-time Part-time Job Overview We are seeking a passionate Traditional Choir Director to lead and inspire our church choir community. This vital role involves guiding vocalists and musicians in rehearsals and worship services, fostering a spirit of praise through musical excellence, and nurturing spiritual growth within the congregation. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, musical liturgical knowledge, and a heartfelt commitment to enhancing worship experiences through music. This paid position offers an opportunity to shape the musical direction of our faith-based organization while mentoring choir members and managing musical productions with enthusiasm and professionalism. Duties Lead, rehearse, and direct the church choir during weekly services and special services to deliver uplifting praise and worship music. Select appropriate hymns and spiritual songs that align with liturgical themes and seasonal celebrations. Manage the musical aspects of church services, including coordinating with the pastor and service leaders to ensure seamless musical performance. Oversee the management of musical instruments, including piano accompaniment and other church-provided instruments, ensuring proper tuning and maintenance. Recruit new choir members and foster a collaborative environment that encourages spiritual growth through music. Arrange sheet music for choir performances, ensuring all members have access to accurate scores and parts for rehearsals and services. Requirements Any experience is welcome, however having experience in directing a singing group is preferred. Knowledge of reading sheet music, vocal music techniques, and familiarity with various musical instruments such as piano. Demonstrated ability to manage musical productions from planning through execution in a faith-based setting. Excellent teaching skills with a talent for mentoring choir members of diverse skill levels. Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with clergy, musicians, and congregation members. Leadership qualities that inspire enthusiasm, dedication, and unity among choir members while maintaining high standards of musical excellence.
